The fireworks show lasted nearly 6 minutes! This is the only fireworks show on any cruise line (below left and right).Ī pirate stopped me after the show and attempted to pillage my loot (below, left). This was at 10:30pm, so we had to make sure to be done with dinner and situated by that point. We also enjoyed our first fireworks show at sea (below left and right), the Buccaneer Blast fireworks. Video #2 – Mickey’s Pirates In The Caribbean Show, Disney Dream Christening Cruise, Disney Cruise Line 1/20/11 – Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Donald and Daisy Duck join a bevy of Pirates for this rollicking stage show! Also features Captain Hook and Smee. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy celebrate (below, right). Of course, Mickey will always win the challenge! Captain Hook is forced off the ship (below, left). Mickey offers a Captain’s challenge, with the agreement being that Captain Hook has to leave if he loses (below, right). Smee (below, left) is with the ships crew, who are tied up as Captain Hook takes over the boat. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy (below, left) are surprised when the dastardly Captain Hook arrives (below, right). Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean begins at 8pm (below left and right), we had enough time to see the entire 25 minute show and then went to dinner (8:30pm second seating). Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean (below, left) is a swashbuckling adventure featuring Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy (below, right). We only spent 2 hours on Castaway Cay including lunch, so we didn’t make it any further than on the video. Video #1 – Castaway Cay Tour Disney Dream Christening Cruise 1/20/11 – A little taste of Castaway Cay with some of the new stuff that has been added. Denise and I posed in front of the Fab 4 before heading back onto the ship (below, right). The ship looks beautiful from the shoreline (below, left). On the way out, we noticed this weathered plaque with skull and crossbones that says “ Castaway Cay, Bahamas” (below, right). Pelican’s Plunge (below, left and right) is described by Disney in this way: “The 2,400-square-foot floating platform, located within swimming distance from shore, celebrates the island’s native pelicans.” It looks like a lot of fun! We didn’t have a chance this trip to try it, but next time.ģ life preservers combine to make a Mickey head with the words “ Castaway Cay” and “ Pelican Plunge” (below, left). It was an absolutely gorgeous day out! In the two hours (or less) we were there, a half hour of it was at Cookie’s BBQ (below, right). We took it on the way there to get some video and photos, and walked back. We walked under the “Welcome! Disney’s Castaway Cay” sign.Ī tram approaches the stop (below, left). There are a lot of nods to Disney executives on Castaway Cay. This sign (below, left) advertises “ Big Al Weiss Shrimp Distributors“. Sorcerer Mickey and broomsticks from Fantasia graces the back of the Disney Dream (below, left and right). We actually didn’t spend much time on Castaway Cay, choosing to spend time on board the Disney Dream (below, right) to take more photos and video before venturing out onto the island.
